Relicario de Santo Tomás de Aquino
Reliquary of St Thomas Aquinas
"The glory of blessed Thomas flashed forth in a divine prodigy as a wonderfully fragrant perfume flowed from his tomb; * shining with purity, he lived without guilt..."
- from a Matins responsory for the feast of St Thomas Aquinas, which is today.
This is the tomb of St Thomas, the great doctor the Church, humbly enshrined beneath an altar in the former medieval Dominican church called the Jacobin church in Toulouse. They were brought to this church on 28 January 1369, which is why his feast is now kept on this date.
